    Installing GreenPrint for Macintosh


    1. Download GreenPrint-KM.
    2. Navigate to where the file was downloaded on your computer and double-click the GreenPrint-KM.dmg file.
    3. Open the GreenPrint-KM disk on the desktop.
    4. Double-click the Popup.pkg file to view the Install Pharos Popup Client installer
    5. The installer's welcome message appears. Click the Continue button twice.

    Greenprint will default to print in color if you are using one of the color printers in the Greenprint system. To change your default so that you always print in black and white, and don't get assessed the higher charge for printing in color, follow the steps below:

    Estimating GreenPrint Printer repair time?


    Typically, when there are problems with GreenPrint, it is usually because a specific printer someone is trying to use is not working; occasionally there is a system-wide problem that is preventing all GreenPrint printers from working.

    • If the printer has a broken part that needs to be replaced, it may be down for a length of time. Please use another printer in this event.
    • If a system-wide problem is causing all the GreenPrint printers not to work, the problem is receiving immediate attention.

    Wait Time for Greenprint Job to Print


    The average academic print job is six pages long. The GreenPrint printers print 45 pages a minute; about eight seconds to print an average job.

    However, large graphics jobs (PDF files and PowerPoint documents, for instance) require intensive processing by the printer. This means that a single page of a graphics-intensive job may take several minutes to process (blinking green light on the printer) before the page actually prints. For these types of jobs:
