    Chart String Lookup Tool

    Details

    This utility is designed to identify valid chart strings for general ledger transactions. Anyone with a valid Dartmouth Name Directory (DND) account may use the Chart String Lookup Tool. It was created when Dartmouth converted from 6-digit to 25-digit account strings.

    Logging into FAMIS via Citrix

    Details

    FAMIS will issue some warning and update screens during the initial login. NOTE: Citrix has been known to hang; give it a few minutes as it may be updating in the background. If it has not been updated within two minutes, close the session by clicking on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the window and start over. It is common to have to log in twice, due to a hang. If you have issues after closing the session two times, contact the IT helpdesk at 603-646-2999.

    Event Scheduling at Dartmouth

    Details

    Dartmouth College uses EMS as its centralized event scheduling system at 13 different scheduling offices. Representatives from most of these offices meet on a regular basis where scheduling policies, system issues, "tricks of the trade," and other related topics are discussed. The group, known as the EMS Users Group, normally meets on a monthly basis.

    System Maintenance Windows

    Details

    Information Technology Services has established regular maintenance windows for each group within the department that deals with production systems. This is to allow everyone who will be affected by these outages to be able to make more long term plans. These outages will still be reported through the Change Management process.

    Step-by-Step

    IMPORTANT: Discoverer will be shut down on January 2, 2017. All data should be in the data warehouse prior to that date.

    To access Oracle Discoverer 11g Plus or Viewer for Banner you must disable any pop-up blockers for this site. If you do not have the Java Runtime Environment installed on your computer, you will be prompted to allow it to run and will have to set the Java security settings to include //discoverer.dartmouth.edu/.

    Hyperion Planning - Budgeting System

    Details

    Hyperion Planning is Dartmouth's budgeting system. It is a web-based system that supports budget input, forecasting and analysis, and is mainly used by departmental fiscal officers, and staff in the Financial Planning and Budget Office.
