The Instructional Design team supports the use of many specialized technology tools for teaching and learning, and helps faculty experiment and innovate with such tools. Many of these tools are available on the web and many of them plug into Canvas.

Benefits and Features

Many technology tools or specialized apps can help faculty with very specific teaching and learning challenges or activities. Here are some examples from this rapidly changing field:

  • Coach’s eye – iPad video analysis tool (used for music conducting)
  • Reflector – iPad app used to control podium computer remotely
  • Twitter – used for micro-blogging in language courses, composition
  • VoiceThread – a multi-media mark-up and commenting tool
  • Zaption – a video mark-up tool

We will also research available technology solutions for specific use cases and curricular needs.
