SPUD - Sponsored Projects Upload Device

Details

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) at Dartmouth College uses the Oracle Grants Accounting financial system to manage grants from various agencies and organizations with many researchers. The Sponsored Projects Upload Tool (SPUD) is used for uploading journal entries for grant or combined grant and non-grant-related funding. SPUD uploads the financial transaction to the Oracle Grants Accounting (OGA) system and General Ledger (GL).

  • To use SPUD, you will need to have been granted access and attended training classes to work with financial systems. Instructions for obtaining access and training, and using or getting help with SPUD are available on the Controller's Office website here.
    • NOTE: Only designated staff in OSP, Service Centers, Controller’s Office, and certain Central Service departments have authority to upload SPUD journal entries and cost transfers. If you have not been assigned this specific responsibility, your journal entries and cost transfers will need to be approved by a designated individual in your department, who will then e-mail it to OSP for uploading.
  • You will need to use the SPUD Excel template. To acquire the template, go to the Controller's Office forms page and click the link for SPUD journal entries.
  • For problems accessing SPUD, contact the IT Service Desk at 646-2999 or email [email protected].
  • For assistance using SPUD, please examine the Oracle Grants Accounting Frequently Asked Questions.
