VPN Client for Mobile Devices

Details

Dartmouth uses an application that requires software be installed on the device before the VPN connection is tried. The product is named Big-IP Edge Client.

However, many resources on the Dartmouth network do not need the VPN client for access. If the system you are trying to access is a web-based resource (such as Library resources), you can start a web-browser and go to https://webgateway.dartmouth.edu/ to access the website you need, rather than installing the Big-IP Edge Client software.

Before you begin

Make sure you have removed any old VPN clients from your computer. The old Juniper VPN and Junos Pulse system should be entirely removed from your device before you can install and use the Big-IP Edge Client. Make sure to look for an remove Juniper, Junos Pulse and Network Connect.

Downloading Big-IP Edge Client

Download the F5 Big-IP Edge client from the app store for your device.

Configuring the Client

There are three pieces of information you need to provide for your app to connect to the VPN:

Connect to the VPN

  1. Launch the F5 Edge Client App.
  2. Touch Connect.
  3. A Dartmouth Web authentication page will load. Sign in with your NetID and password. If you are using duo.vpn.dartmouth.edu, a duo authentication page will load after entering NetID and password.
