Role Selection: Max Seidman and Dr. Gili Freedman–Tiltfactor

Features an interview with Max Seidman, a game designer, and Gili Freedman, a postdoctoral researcher, both of whom are members of Dartmouth's Tiltfactor lab, about how they are field-testing their new game at a Hanover, N.H., pub—and the assumptions about how that game might change a player's behavior. Founded and led by Mary Flanagan, the Sherman Fairchild Distinguished Professor in Digital Humanities, Tiltfactor designs games that lead to positive social change—reducing sexual assault on campuses, raising climate change awareness, diminishing gender bias—that are also fun to play.
