Add Content in Drupal

If you want to create content in Drupal, start by clicking the Add Content link in the gray menu bar at the top-left corner of your screen. You can create four kinds of content, depending on what you're trying to do:

  • A basic page is for content that doesn’t change over time (general information about a program, major requirements, etc.).
  • An article is for more time-sensitive information such as an item in the news, an alumni update, a report on a study, etc.
  • A person profile is just what it sounds like, and it appears under your site's People menu. It's where you keep your staff and faculty.
  • If you wish to draw extra attention to your content, you can make it one of two menu features, which appear when a user hovers the cursor over one of your site's main menu items. A menu feature is not a page—it’s a link— but you have to create it just like you would create a page, article or profile.
