Running Java on Chrome


In order to get java to run with the Chrome web browser (version 42) follow the steps below:

  1. Type Chrome://Flags in address bar and press Enter.
  2. In the Enable NPAPI box, click Enable.
  3. Click Relaunch Now.
  4. Type Chrome://Settings in address bar and press Enter.
  5. Click Show advanced settings found at the bottom of the window.
  6. In the Privacy section, click Content Settings.
  7. Scroll down to the Plug-ins section and click Detect and run important plugin.
  8. Click Done.

Note: Chrome no longer supports NPAPI. Google's Chrome version 45, and above, drops support for NPAPI, impacting plugins for Silverlight, Java, Facebook Video and other similar NPAPI based plugins.
