    Publications Admin for Drupal


    Four faculty publications can appear at a time on your site’s homepage. They might be journal articles, books, anthology contributions, etc., and should appear in descending chronological order.

    • Enter the title, then the publication.
    • Include volume, issue, date, pages, publisher – whatever information is appropriate.
    • Select up to three authors; if there are more, select the “et al.” box at the end.
    • Select Save Configuration at the bottom.


    WYSIWYG Editor in Drupal


    The WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") editor is the interface we use to edit our pages in Drupal. It allows us to see, more or less, how parts of our pages will look as we are working on them, and gives us a few options to modify our content. We can add some text formatting, bulleted or numbered lists, links to other pages or sites, indents, headers, etc.

    Article Tags in Drupal


    The tag function makes it easy for you to gather articles in one place. It automatically updates the feed as new articles matching that tag come in. While basic pages have a menu structure to give them context, articles need tags to tell your site where they go.

    The tag field is located below the article body field.

    Be conservative with your tags. Think logically about the subject areas your content falls into.

    The title is what people will see first when they look at your article. It should not be longer than a short sentence, and can usually be thought of as a headline. Use proper capitalization (not all caps). The title field cannot use formatting such as italics.

    This is the main text area for your article. It should be formatted to be readable on the web. Paragraphs should be separated with new lines and the body of the article will need to consist of complete sentences.

    This section allows for formatting such as bold and italics, and also allows for linking to other pages on your site or to pages elsewhere on the web.

    Do not place images within a section body. If you do, they won’t scale correctly with the page and will not look good on mobile devices. Use the slideshow for images.

    Basic Page Title in Drupal


    A basic page's title should be short, no more than a few words. Remember that it will need to fit in the left-hand-side list of sub-pages that appear below its parent menu item, and wordy page titles can get awkward.

    Keep in mind that a large section of our audience is made up of prospective students and parents who aren't familiar with our acronyms or insider terms, so try to be descriptive yet efficient with your titles.

    The Find Content link allows you to view all of the published or unpublished content, files or webforms on your site. Make sure that you are logged into your site and click Find content in the upper left-hand side of the gray menu bar.

    The two fastest ways to categorize and analyze content are filtering and sorting.
