Logging into FAMIS via Citrix

FAMIS will issue some warning and update screens during the initial login. NOTE: Citrix has been known to hang; give it a few minutes as it may be updating in the background. If it has not been updated within two minutes, close the session by clicking on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the window and start over. It is common to have to log in twice, due to a hang. If you have issues after closing the session two times, contact the IT helpdesk at 603-646-2999.

  1. Log into Citrix.
  2. Once you log into Citrix, shortcuts are created on your desktop for FAMIS, for those with access to FAMIS. Click the FAMIS shortcut on your desktop, or start via the Citrix icon in the lower right task bar of your screen.
  3. If you are prompted that your java version is out of date, place a check in the Do not ask again until the next update is available field then click Later.
  4. When a window appears asking Do you want to run this application? place a check in the Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above field then click Run. Note: If the screen appears a second time, repeat this process; it often displays one more time after login.
  5. If an Unavailable version of java requested window appears, click Run with the latest version. If the session hangs following this, click Cancel. If it hangs still, close the session and start over.
  6. You should then see the authentication screen. Log into FAMIS as usual, using your NetID (not OPS$), password and FAMIS for the database name. Click Connect. Note: If you don't get the database (3rd line of login) right prior to clicking Connect, you will need to close the Citrix window (by pressing the X in the upper right-hand corner of the window) and start over. FAMIS does not recover gracefully for a wrong database name, so starting a new citrix session is required.
