Network Jack Add Move Change Service Overview



Data (network) jack activation, installation, and repair requests can be placed with the Wired Network Service Request Form, or by sending an email request to [email protected].

Available to

Dartmouth faculty, staff, and students.

Benefits and features

Data jacks, sometimes referred to as network jacks, are located in most campus offices, classrooms, and residence hall rooms. When connected to a printer or computer via a network cable, jacks provide a physical connection to the Dartmouth network for any registered printers, computers, and devices that are network-capable.


A computer/device must be registered to connect to the Dartmouth network via a network cable and data jack.

Getting Started

Installation and Repairs

To have a new data jack installed, use the network service request form.

To request a repair to an existing network jack, you can use the Wired Network Service Request form or send an email request to [email protected].

For all requests please include the following information:

  • Your contact information.
  • Building and room number.
  • The jack ID.
  • Your department name.
  • A detailed description of the request or problem.
