Microsoft Office 2016 is the newest Office version available for Windows and Mac OS X. The most obvious changes in Office 2016 as compared to earlier versions, are that it has been streamlined in its visual style to be more touch and stylus friendly, as well as a flatter, more web-like appearance.

System Requirements

  • You will need a computer running Windows 7/8/10 to install Microsoft Office 2016.
  • You will need a computer running Mac OS X 10.10 or higher to install Microsoft Office 2016.

Compatibility

  • If you plan on giving copies of documents you create in Office 2007, 2010, 2011 (Mac) or 2013 to people who have versions of Office prior to 2007 (Windows) or 2004 (Mac), we recommend that when you save the file, you change the “Save as…” file to be the same type as the earlier version of Office. This will create a file that will be able to be opened by anyone running previous versions of Office.
